DTD Oxygen Injection Wells to Be Featured in Presentation at Battelle Bioremediation Conference

Posted on

DTD teamed with Black & Veatch and Matrix Oxygen Injection Systems to design deep horizontal wells for low-volume oxygen injection beneath a rail yard adjacent to a Superfund Site near Pensacola, Florida. Black & Veatch were the design engineers, Matrix provided the injection system design, and DTD designed the screens and completed the horizontal well installation. Drilling Pad

The horizontal oxygen injection well was installed in a bore approximately 100 feet deep and 1,450 feet long, passing beneath the rail yard. Pilot testing was conducted in July 2009 and June 2010.  Test results showed orders of magnitude increase in DO and aerobic bacteria at nearby monitoring wells. For more detailed information, see the link below for the abstract describing the results or catch the presentation June 28th, at Battelle’s Bioremediation Conference in Reno, Nevada. The presentation is co-authored by Black & Veatch, the EPA and Matrix Oxygen Injection Systems. DTD will have a booth at the Bioremediation, stop in and see us!
