DTD has completed a pullback of 1,000 feet of 16” Steel beneath the Pecos River near the New Mexico/Texas border. The bore was necessary to replace shallow and degrading pipeline that failed an integrity inspection.
Access to the location was extremely limited, requiring the traverse of 11 miles of desert road, 2 miles requiring high clearance offroad vehicles. Though the bore was only 1,000 feet long, the trip from entry to exit required over thirty miles of travel and over an hour of time. The bore was completed in less than two weeks, with much of the project duration consumed by the access in and out of the location.
